White Rice

For 3 cups:
  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 Tbsp butter or margarine (optinal)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (optional)
For 6 cups
  • 2 cups rice
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp butter or margarine (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)
  1. In a 3-quart covered saucepan, combine all ingredients according to chart.
  2. Bring to boil. Turn to low heat.
  3. Simmer 15 minutes or until all water is absorbed. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 5 minutes. Serve.
